Here is what we found at the Shively's House over the Weekend

These are pictures of Chris playing with Flour and His Cars. This all happened because on Saturday afternoon Dezi and the kids all decided to take a power nap which ended up being 3 hours and Chris woke up before everyone else and found a measure cup and the flour and dumped it on table and began to play with his cars and this is how Dezi and the girls found him when they woke up.

Kassy decided to have some fun too

Weekend fun

Well we decided that since the weather was good and we really hadn't been out on a date for awhile over the weekend. Tom and I decided to stop in and take Kelty with us. We raced to Ciruit City to go see what type of deals they had going since they were going out of business. Then we decided to go Bowling but all the bowling alley's in Idaho Falls was full so we drove at 10:30 pm back to Rexburg to bowl at Teton Lanes. What FUN!!!! Here are some pictures that we took.

Well instead of going out to eat or having something bought from the store, Tom and I decided that we would just make breakfast. Plus Tom had to work from 12-9. Just wanted to share with you the plate of breakfast with y'all. Happy Valentine's Day. Hope it was just as wonderful for y'all as it was for Tom and I.

Prayer and Faith

Please bear with me this may be long but this is what is in my heart and head today. If you don't want to continue reading that is fine but if you do please read with an open heart. I was reading the March Ensign, the First Presidency Message by Thomas S Monson. It really touched my heart and answer some questions. It starts out saying "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding." Then it goes on to say that even the wise Solomon son of David king of Israel and Jacob brother of Nephi declared, "Look unto God with firmness of mind, and pray unto him with exceeding faith." Also a revelation given to Prophet Joseph Smith, the Lord said "Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not" We live times that test our faith of the gospel of Jesus Christ and test our strength in prayer. Satan sometimes has a pull on things and gives struggles in our lives that seem like that we can't get through them. But with faith and prayer the Lord will help us. It may not be in the timely manner that we would like it to happen but the Lord will do it on His time. We just have to have faith and trust in him. Strength comes in prayer to Heavenly Father. As President Monson says "There is no more beautiful sight in all this world then to see a family praying together. There is real meaning behind the oft quoted,'The family that prays together stays together'" We must offer unto the Lord the prayers, let us do so with faith and trust in Him. Also President Monson states "Those who feel that prayers might denote a physical or intellectual weakness should remember that a man never stands taller than when he is upon his knees." I know that as I have been praying I get more faith and strength as I kneel on my knees. I also know that faith and doubt can not be in the same mind and same time for one will overcome the other. We must accept his invitation as Joseph Smith did that one spring morning as he knelt in prayer. "Times have not really changed. Prayer continues to provide power-spiritual power. Prayer continues to provide peace-spiritual peace." Wherever we may be, our Heavenly Father can hear and answer the prayer that we offer in faith. Remember that faith comes in strengths and we must have an open heart and mind so that we are able to listen for the Spirit to whisper to us. As President Monson also said " Through personal prayer, through family prayer, by trusting in God with Faith, nothing wavering, we can call down to our rescue His mighty power. His call to us is as it has ever been: "Come unto me."

How the Lord Works in Mysteries Ways

These past few days I have learned that Heavenly Father puts people in our lives for some reason or other. Some may stay for only a little bit but others may stay for awhile. It may hurt or break your heart when they leave. We may not know the reason why they left or maybe the reason why they stay. It may break our hearts or hurt our feelings. It may make us feel that we are not beautiful or we are not worth anything. Heavenly Father knows what want we can handle and what we can't. He won't get us into any situation that we will not be able to handle. It maybe hard to us or break our hearts but he will help us as long as we allow us in our hearts and mind. Heavenly Father puts people in our lives to help us but we have to allow them into our hearts even though it may hurt us. We may not know why certain people come into our lives and why they leave until after we have gone through sorrow, pain and hurt. We must remember that Heavenly Father and Christ is there to help us through. Christ suffered for us all, even for are sorrows and broken hearts. Remember that things are in our lives for a purpose and that Heavenly Father hears and answers are prayers. It may not be the answer that we are looking for but there is a reason only Heavenly Father knows.

Super Bowl Party

Well Sunday was a good day and enjoyed the time with the family. We had my parents and brother come up from Rexburg. They went to church with Tom and I. Then after church and close to the football game we invited my Aunt LaRae and Uncle Francis to our home. It was fun. As Tom was rooting for the Steelers and the rest of us was rooting for the Cardinals. Personally it was fun to root against him and see what he would do. The party was fun.
